The Best Places to See the Most Vibrant Fall Foliage in Central Colorado

aspen trees in the fall

September is here and fall is definitely in the air. We celebrated the 19th Annual Chili & Beer Festival last weekend in Crested Butte which for many is the unofficial kick-off to fall. We've been seeing areas of gold starting to dot our hillsides for the past couple of weeks now and though the days are still plenty warm, the mornings have that certain crispness to them.

While enjoying these last few weeks of warm, sunny days, you may be looking for The Best Places to See the Most Vibrant Fall Foliage in Central Colorado. Luckily for us, we don't have to look very far. Some of the best fall foliage can be found right here in our own backyards. From Gunnison to Gothic, there are plenty of off-the-beaten-path roads where you can take in all of the fall beauty Colorado has to offer. Some of our favorite fall drives are Ohio Pass past the beautiful cattle ranches, over Kebler Pass to Paonia or Crested Butte, through the Black Canyon of the Gunnison, Taylor Canyon, and of course, through the Gothic Corridor and over Paradise Divide. No matter what road you take, you're sure to find beautiful fall colors.

The leaves are changing early this year so grab your cameras and be sure to plan you weekend drive to take in the awesome changing colors of the season! If you're looking for more places to "leaf peep", check out The Best Places to See the Most Vibrant Fall Foliage in Central Colorado.
